I’m 51 years old and I’ve had surgery for a prolapsed disc (L5) in 2001. Post surgery results were good until 19/10/2008 when I developed the same symptoms. A MRI scan revealed the same condition as I previously had.
I’m now attending a physiotherapist with very small and/or no results at all.
I’ve been recommended to an acupuncturist for treatment as well as a chiropractor.
Please advise on which action to take as I’m trying to avoid surgery this time round.
I also work at sea on an anchor handling tug in the oil industry. I work in the engine room and at times this is very insensive working with heavy equipment and in confined spaces.
What do you advise me to do. Continue working in this environment and taking precautions or consider another type of less intensive work? I’m looking to retire in +/- 4years time if all works to plan.
Many thanks
Kind regards
Russel
