Back pain relief from sciatica is well documented in the medical literature. Sciatica related to disc herniation is the most common symptom described in back pain circles. But what exactly is sciatica?
Sciatica is the word used to describe the symptom of pain running down the back of the leg due to irritation or inflammation of the sciatic nerve. Sciatica is most often used to describe these symptoms when a diagnosis of a herniated disc is made. But, like we have already discussed, sciatica can be used to describe buttocks and leg pain from piriformis syndrome.
The etymology of the word “sciatica” is from the Greek and actually means hip pain. Of particular interest is the description from the Oxford English Dictionary that cites Timon of Athens as using the term “sciatica” as a curse placed on the senators.
The contemporary use of the word may lead to some confusion. Other terms interchangeable with “sciatica” include: nerve root pain, radicular pain, radiculopathy, and nerve root entrapment.
The Erase Your Back Pain program addresses sciatica with a specific treatment program the gets results very quickly. Check the details out here ==> No More Back Pain!
