A simple back pain exercise you can do anywhere is to stretch the psoas muscle. The psoas is a deep muscle of the low back that runs from the upper lumbar spine, through the pelvis, and attaches onto the front side of the hip.
Back pain is often experienced when this muscle is tight. So to help you with stretching this muscle, I’ve put together a short video that describes how to best stretch the psoas.
If you or someone you know is experiencing back pain, you might want to chack out my Erase Your Back Pain program. It’s helped over 17,000 of my patients over the past 25 years and I’m certain it will help you. You can have a look here ==> No More Back Pain!

Sounds great! Your blog is one of my most favorite now ;). You have hit the nail on the head, just like you always do.
Thank you. Done correctly and in conjunction with other exercises, this stretch is very effective in treating low back pain.
Now that you have correctly identified which lower back PSOAS muscle I am having pain with, what is the condition called, from your list of problems? I am doing this exercise from video #2 alternating knees/positions……(muscle pain is only on the left side). Also, please tell me how I can sleep without this muscle aching. Only in bed, does this pain occur and I cannot find a painless position, awakening more tired in the morning than when I went to bed. Once upright, I AM FINE and still walking 2-4 miles each day with no pain.
