If you have further questions, let me know.
I had a discectomy back in 96 and my back has started to really bother me again for the last year. I have been scheduled for a rhizotamy and would like your opinion. I have read and been told that i can avoid sutrgery by having this procedur done followed by a strengthening program that i will have to live by. Please respond
Robert,
I need to know more about your condition, but I’m 95% certain a rhizotomy is probably NOT in your best interest. You really need to contact me to discuss this matter further. I had a patient recently who was scheduled for this procedure and i was able to help her substantially with my program. Email me at backpainhelp@gmail.com.
DO NOT do this procedure until you speak with me.
I really wish i had found out about you sooner. I had my procedure done thursday at 3 pm. I would like some advice as to what to expect and what you recomend for me. I really want to get on with my life free of pain and discomfort. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Hi Doctor
I was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis and was told if I didnt have surgery soon I will end up in a wheelchar, no other treatments was suggested like PT. steroid injection, or even spinal decompression, I went for a second opinion and researched on the internet and everything told me decompressioin would be a better choice first as well as some therapy, while I wait to get decompression done I would like to know what exercises to do to help ease the pain, also I have ostioartheritis need knee replacement soon and all my joints hurt all the time it incapasiates me so I am no longer able to work, and unable to be as active as I like, I do take scripts mobic as well as pain med to help, what can I do to help the healing process?.
Thaks
Sylvia,
At the risk of sounding self promotional, before i would do decompression (which is very expensive), I would spend $97 and get the Erase Your Back Pain Program.
Here’s why:
First, it gets to the core of the stenosis. The stenosis didn’t just happen. There were events that took place which led to the onset of the stenosis. These events, which I refer to a muscle imbalances, need to be addressed before anything is done. if they aren’t, neither decompression or surgery will work.
Second, decompression therapy is a passive form of treatment which research clearly says in ineffective in providing long term relief. Whle you may experience temporary relief with decompression, the relief will be short lived. The Erase Your Back Pain program utilizes what I call functional decompression through the use of a brace and addresses the underlying muscle imbalances with active exercise. Bottom line: you get the benefit of decompression and get to stay active.
Finally, any back pain treatment needs to have rationale and order. In other words, do first things first, second things second, etc. Most programs take a “shotgun” approach hoping something will hit the target. I take a different approach. I take a laser focus on the target first by addressing the core problem and not just the symptoms.
And the results…
90% success rate treating over 17000 patients, which is far above industry standard not to mention the fact that you’ve probably just saved about $3000 -4000.
And the real kicker is that I guarantee the results. If you don’t get better, you get your money back. You won’t get that guarantee with decompression.
So if you want to give my program a try, just click here: http://eraseyourbackpain.com/sales_page/sales.html
If you have further questions, just email me at backpainhelp@gmail.com and I’ll answer anything you need know.
I do hope I have the opportunity to work with you.

I have a couple of questions:
1) your introduction says “here’s your next video…”If there was one before this, I didn’t get it.
2)On the exercise in this video, do you do all the exercises on just the side that hurts or both sides? Thanks, Linda
I have had low back pain for quite some time , the last MRI that I had showed premature degeneration and 2 slightly buldging discs - [MAY 2006 - OK - I had epidurals [series of 3 ] it helped some but for a short time .I then fell in AUGUST, was x-rayed - nothing was broken , a short time after I fell I began having more pain from my hip down to my ankle .The pain goes from my hip down the front of my leg .Just below my knee to the outside it hurts .The pain hurts sometimes so bad that it will wake me up at night .The pain seems to be in the same location all the time , mainly just below my knee then to the outside of it . Is this to do with a Siatic nerve or muscle or what ? I have tried all kinds of ” pain ” meds -OTC and perscription , none of which seem to help. When I fell could that have caused something to be ‘ Off ‘ ?
I have had 7 spinal fusions, in my neck and lower lumber. Lately I have been feeling numbness in both legs with feelings of immobility to walk at all. I have had much trouble with degeneration and now they say (the neurosurgeons) that further surgeries would impair my movement totally and would have a rod from top to bottom. I wouldn’t even be able to bend over which is a thought I don’t entertain. The degeneration hasn’t been so damaging in my thorasic region yet!?%@#?, guess it’s just a matter of time. Can you give me any advice to help me?
I am fairly confident that I have a sway back. So I have taken up Nordic Walking for other health issues. I find that after I walk, if I try to cross my legs, my hips are pretty stiff. The right hip really hurts in the groin when I try to cross my legs. The pain is there also when I sit and try to lift my right leg straight up…like getting comfortable behind the wheel. Is this common and what can or should I be doing. Also, the outside of my hip muscle is extremely tender to the touch, right at the joint. The slightest pressure really hurts, I mean really hurts. Any suggestions?
June,
The tenderness on the outside of your hip may be some inflammation of the hip bursa (trochanteric bursitis) or a tendinitis of one of the muscles attaching to that part of your hip bone. NSAIDs (check with your doctor), ice, and specific stretching exercises usually help this problem.
As for the groin pain, my first thought is a hip joint problem - either a “bone on bone” issue which can be identified with xray or a hip labrum problem which can be identified on MRI. These are only guesses as I have no other info to go on.
I am an active 58 yr old female. YEARS [30+] I was informed I had a scolioses [not spelled correctly] curvature of the spine. Actually 2 at that stage. The first was very high up between the firs and second [or the 2nd & 3rd] Vertebrae, the second was about C2,C3. Now in the past 4 years I am ‘Twisting’ up further.
These curvatures do not cause me to have a ’stoop’. I have an obsession with that and do all I can to prevent that disfigurement. My spine is not ‘humped’ but more like a ’snake’. I use almost no pillow, if ‘MY’ special pillow is unavailable, eg a trip to hospital, I use a rolled towel.
1. Is there anything I can do to prevent further degeneration of my spine.
2. I’m pretty active, I walk a lot.
3. Nobody has suggested any type of a brace. I think that is not an option. I do have weakness in my hands, my balance is not good. I think this is due to my back problems.
4. I do not know what to expect if my back does change rapidly. I have had occasions when I have lifted something, or had a fall and the next day my strength is noticably different. I have a fear that one day I’ll wake up and be paralised.
I know, that sounds dramatic. But I did wake one morning, after an incident and was strange from the armpits down, not able to move. I lay in bed for an hour or two and it eased. Movements were not good, but I’mback functioning again.
Is there anything I can do?
Thanks for your advice,
Ellen
